Carnival Cruise and Bahamas Port for a day

Image
My sister had finally talked me into a cruise.  She was like my tour guide telling me different things as we walked around the ship. There was a certain excitement on the ship. People were swimming, playing putt putt, eating, and settling in their cabins.  Our cabin had a balcony, and I'll admit, I enjoyed the ocean breeze as it swept around our room. There was so much to do on the ship, trivia, games, stage shows and so much more. We never ran out of things to do. One night while on the ship we went to a Hasbro game night. You got to compete for different prizes.  In order to get on stage, you had to answer trivia questions. I was lucky enough to be chosen to go on stage and compete.  I didn’t win the grand prize, but I did win a card game. Trivia was so much fun as well. My husband helped us win a trophy for sports related questions.  Our day in the Bahamas started with an island tour.  We began our tour sightseeing on a bus which took us tho...

London day 4- Kensington Palace, Buckingham Palace, Abbey Road and more

The weather was cloudy and a little cold but we enjoyed our last full day. We started by visiting Kensington Palace. The grounds are stunning. I really enjoyed watching as people walked their dogs, kids ran around, and ducks glided along the water. At one end of the gates was a quaint soft serve shop. My husband loves ice cream so this was a must do for us (even if it was cold).   We walked around the city for a while and found a Sherlock Holmes Museum. My husband and daughter are both huge fans of the books so we were delighted to find this.  Next we made our way to Buckingham Palace.  Seeing this historic building in person was a surreal experience.  I’ve always had a fondness toward the royals.  So getting to see both Kensington Palace and Buckingham Palace in the same day was a dream come true.  Aside from being a fan of the royals, I couldn’t go to London and not visit the iconic Abbey Road.  I grew up listening to The Beatles. My mom is a huge fa...

New York - Nintendo Store, Museum of Modern Art, and Rockefeller Center

Image
We started off day 3 by taking a stroll near the South Street Seaport.  We enjoyed taking in the views of the water.  We then took a double decker tour bus around different burrows.  We also stopped by the only Nintendo Store in the World, Rockefeller Center, The Museum of Modern Art, and ended our day watching an off Broadway production of The Jersey Boys.   The Nintendo Store did not disappoint.  There are 2 floors full of Nintendo merchandise.  There are statues of video game characters that almost bring the characters to life.  My favorite is Luigi!  Stopping by Rockefeller Center was sort of iconic for me.  I’ve see the area in movies and thought maybe one day I could there.  I stood there memorized as I looked around in awe, thinking to myself how cool it was that I was there.   The Museum of Modern Art was amazing. Walking around being surrounded by some of the world’s best art is awe inspiring.  Looking at Monet, ...
