Key West

We decided to take a hop on hop off tour with Old Time Trolleys. I like doing tours like these because you get to hear a lot about the city and it’s history. We boarded the trolley near Mac’s Sea Garden. Went around the majority of the island but when we got to the stop for the Southern Most Point of the continental USA, we got off the tour. There was a line that we waited in for about an hour before being able to get our pics.  It is an iconic photo opportunity.  We then walked a few blocks to Hemingway’s house and then past the Key West Lighthouse. We got back on the trolley while on Duval Street. We toured past Mile Marker 0 and went to Mallory Square. We then spent the evening at Smathers Beach watching the sunset and taking an evening swim. The water was warmer than I was expecting which for me was a pleasant surprise. 

Margaritaville Beach House Resort

Margaritaville Beach House Resort is where we are staying during our weekend trip to Key West. This resort has a lot to offer and I’m glad I choose this for our accommodations. Yesterday we walked around the resort and later in the evening went to the beach.  It’s a low key atmosphere which is nice because you feel any tension melt away. There is music that plays throughout the resort, not just Jimmy Buffet but different artist.  When you check in, you are greeted with a Welcome Cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic). There is free coffee/tea and water in the lobby and by the pool. At noon there are smoothies by the pool. Then at 2:00 you can get popsicles by the pool. From 3:00 - 7:00 there are cookies and fruit infused water in the lobby.  At different point on the property there are hammocks set up for those who want to enjoy them. We also checked out the fitness center.  The Tin Cup Chalice is an on-site restaurant. We ate here a few times. Each time the food was ...
