Traveling with Lara

My husband and I have started our cross county trip. We are driving to Kansas City, then off to Denver. After that we are heading to Moab, Flagstaff, Lake Havasu, Las. Vegas, and Phoenix. I’m looking forward to sharing lots of pics.

Driving Route 66 can be a once in a lifetime opportunity. This was a trip a wanted to embark on with my best friend of the past 30 years. My best friend Leah and I had talked about driving Route 66 for at least a few years before deciding it was time to stop talking about it and start planning it. I started by searching flights from Los Angeles to our hometown of Cincinnati. I found a great deal and purchased the tickets. I looked at different maps and bought a few books to learn about the things we could see along the way. I talked to my mom about the trip, and she recommend that I read a book that she read called Driving America’s Main Street Route 66 Still Kicks by Rick Antonson. I read this and took notes about the places he and his friend stopped at on their journey. After I read that, I watched, Cruising Route 66 with Michael Wallace. I watched the movie on the making on the Disney Wish and watched a few YouTube videos. I wanted to see as much of this ship as I could during the 3 days that I would be on it. I wasn’t able to see everything that I wanted but I did get to see a lot. We were able to board the boat at 12:30 pm. We decided to head to lunch but I wanted to experience one of the restaurants while we were still waiting for others to board. We decided on Arendelle. Walking into the restaurant, there is a long hallway with red and green to represent Anna and Elsa. The windows were frosted over and at first I didn’t realize why. After I took a walking tour of the ship, it made sense, Elsa had frozen the windows! The detail of this ship is absolutely amazing. The artwork in the walls are hand painted recreations of the ones from the movie where Anna sings,  Do you want to build a snowman?
